According to news reports, the Taco Del-mar on Broadway was the target of an arsonist–whose firey plans turned explosive instead. The mexican fast food chain and all its neighouring retailers have since been boarded up–head to toe.
In quiet city like Vancouver, this is a big event–commuters lean towards the window in the 99 B-line bus when passing by to see ground zero, pedestrians pretend not to stare as they detour around the strange wooden storefronts. For a while, the site will attract more stares than the trench they’re digging on granville. And then it will blend right into the urban landscape.
I wonder how long?
