If you haven’t checked out the future site of the Olympic Village recently—I recommend it. The site is a chaos of cranes, gravel, and exposed pipes right now. Yet, in just a short time it will become an architect’s urban fantasy: filled with designer condos, wide stretches of green lawn and the odd art installation.
The transformation, I think, is worth watching.

I was just thinking about that yesterday as I walked past Science World and False Creek. All the construction cranes on one big site indicated a complete transformation was about to take place. Soon the towers will sprout up out of the big empty lot, and grow.
Yes, its true…it would be interesting to map out where all the cranes are in the city to track what neigbourhood are being developed the most.
Maybe I will.
